12 Handy Computer Shortcuts Everyone Should Know
MOUSE SHORTCUTS
Most people are savvy with common computer shortcuts but the last ones will surprise you too.
- Hold [SHIFT] key and left click / drag to select all consecutive folders/text within a range.
- Hold [CTRL] key and left click / drag to select folders/text. Do it multiple times to select non-consecutive folders/text.
- Here’s one cracker. Hold [ALT] key and left click / drag to select folders/text vertically! (great for PDF’s with a side table etc).
- Here’s the other. Open links in a new tab by clicking them with middle mouse button. You can also close open tabs by clicking them using the middle mouse button.
- But wait… there’s more! Hold [CTRL] button and scroll and zoom in/out to enlarge/reduce text size. This even works in Windows Explorer, i.e. folders? It scrolls through the various view options. More importantly, however, this trick can help you read better when the font on a website or in a document is too small.
